We started this day driving on the bus to Bergama to see how they make traditional Turkish rugs. They can be made of silk, wool, or cotton. Each village has their own unique pattern, stich, and textile that they pass down generation to generation and they can easily take 8+ months to finish. Their storehouse was filled with beautiful rugs. An 8′ x 10′ rug would start at ~$2,500 and go up from their based-on material, design complexity, etc. We then went and saw the ancient city of Troy made famous by ancient Greek mythology and reenacted in the 2004 movie with Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. We finished the day in Canakkale which is a university town. The Trojan horse from the movie is in this town.
